Estimate my property taxes!! What?!

Blog by Jean Richer - Bilingual Salesperson | February 21st, 2017

You just bought a brand new house from a builder. The taxes are not assessed yet, what should you do?

I represent a builder in Rockland and we sell a lot of townhouses. I tell everyone that buys one of our beautiful townhouses to set money aside because once the city sends you a tax bill, they do not want to wait for their money. They will expect their property tax bill to be paid. It's better to avoid this big surprise becase often, these bills come in and they are a BIG surprise.

Put some money aside every payday or every month and when the bill comes in, you can simply to it off in full without having to scramble for the tax money!
